CLOSING OF SUBSCRIPTION BOOKS
On Cash Offering of y2 Percent Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness
of Series A-1942

To all Banking Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

In accordance with instructions received today from the Secretary of the
Treasury, the subscription books for the current offering of $1,500,000,000, or
thereabouts, of y% percent Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness of Series A-1942,
dated April 15, 1942, due November 1, 1942, were closed at the close of business
Monday, April 6, 1942.
Any subscription addressed to a Federal Reserve Bank or Branch and placed
in the mail before 12 o'clock midnight, Eastern war time, Monday, April 6, 1942,
as evidenced by postoffice cancellation, will be considered as having been entered
before the close of the subscription books.
