CERTAIN OBSOLETE TREASURY FOLDERS
To Be Sold As Waste Paper

To All Banks and Trust Companies
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

During the latter part of 1941, we sent to certain banking institutions in
the Second Federal Reserve District supplies of two Treasury folders entitled
"Know Your Taxes" and "Tax Savings Plan", respectively.
We are now advised by the Treasury Department that the usefulness of the
folder "Know Your Taxes" (16-23985) expired on March 16, 1942, since the
income tax rates on which it is based will undoubtedly be changed by the
revenue Act now pending before Congress and that, to avoid possible error
and confusion, member banks which have stocks of the folder on hand should
sell them as waste paper.
We are further advised by the Treasury Department that the red, white
and blue folder "Tax Savings Plan" (16-24503) is also obsolete and should
be sold as waste paper. It is supplanted by a Treasury folder entitled "Tax
Savings Notes" (16-26153), copies of which were transmitted with our Circular
No. 2372, dated January 30, 1942, to all banks and trust companies in the Second
Federal Reserve District.

ALLAN SPROUL,

President.
