FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
OF NEW YORK

.

Circular No. 1934, May 3, 1939, Amending
Circular No. 1883, dated October 1, 1938.

Description of Immediate-Credit
Cash Items Unnecessary

To Member and Nonmember Clearing Banks in the Second Federal Reserve District,
(except banks in the territory assigned to the Buffalo Branch):

You are advised that the last paragraph appearing on page three of our Circular
No. 1883, dated October 1, 1938, containing our New York Head Office time schedule has been
amended, effective immediately, to read as follows:
"All cash items, other than immediate-credit items, should be accompanied by photographic
films of such cash items or be described on cash letters by inserting the name of the bank and
city or town at which they are payable, or by inserting the American Bankers' Association
transit number of such bank.''
(New matter italicized.)
This amendment makes it unnecessary for banks which forward to us for collection
immediate-credit cash items of the kind specified on page two of the above-mentioned Circular
No. 1883, to show the names, locations or descriptive symbols of the drawee banks on the cash
letters which accompany such items, or to furnish us with photographic films of such cash items.

President.
