Closing of First New York Bank for Business

To A ll Depository Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Second Federal Reserve District:

We have been advised that on November 13, 1992 the Superintendent of
Banks of the State of New York issued an order providing for the closing of First
New York Bank for Business, New York, New York ("First New York") (routing
number 0260-0310-4). The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was appointed
receiver and, effective the close of business November 13, 1992, transferred certain
assets and liabilities of First New York to The Merchants Bank of New York, New
York, New York ("Merchants"). Merchants has agreed to continue receiving certain
payments transactions of First New York, including checks and automated
clearinghouse transactions bearing the routing number of First New York.
