The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was appointed receiver and, effective the close of business November 13, 1992, transferred certain assets and liabilities of First New York to The Merchants Bank of New York, New York, New York ("Merchants"). Merchants has agreed to continue receiving certain payments transactions of First New York, including checks and automated clearinghouse transactions bearing the routing number of First New York. E.
