As indicated at the March meeting of the FOMC,

Chairman

Burns plans to call for a special session of the April meeting,
beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon, April 14.

This session

will be followed by a dinner of Board members and Reserve Bank

Presidents,

and if

it

appears desirable,

by a resumption of the

FOMC meeting in the evening.
The regular session of the FOMC meeting will begin on
Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m.

A luncheon in honor of Mr. Coombs is planned

for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, to which all participants in the FOMC meeting
are invited.

You may also want to allow for the possibility that

the Tuesday session will resume in the afternoon.
The agenda for the April meeting will be distributed early

in the week of April 7.
