The figures in this column, therefore, represent the reserves required to be maintained on the business day following the call date. Pursuant to the provisions of law, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System prescribed the following requirements as to reserves to be maintained b y each member bank effective at the opening of business April 16, 1938: Tim e deposits— 5 percent for all member banks; Net demand deposits— 22% percent for Central Reserve city banks, Y iy^ percent for Reserve city banks and 12 percent for Country banks. s Based on member banks’ books. These figures differ from those shown b y the Federal Reserve banks’ books because of a lack of synchro nization of entries on the books of the Federal Reserve banks and the member banks. 4 “ Gross demand deposits” and “ Deductions” , as shown in this table but not elsewhere, exclude uninvested trust funds and balances due from banks, respectively, reported b y one bank that has no commercial department.
