Federal Reserve Bank OF DALLAS Dallas, Texas, December 27, 1943 To the Member Bank Addressed: We are advised by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Sys tem that on Saturday, January 1, New Year’s Day, all Federal Reserve banks and branches will be closed. We are also advised that Saturday, January 8, Anniversary of the Bat tle of New Orleans, is a legal holiday in the State of Louisiana, but that the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta will be open for such business as may be legally transacted. This bank and its branches at El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio will be closed on Wednesday, January 19, in observance of the birthday of Gen eral Robert E. Lee. January 19 has been proclaimed a legal holiday in all States in the Atlanta District but the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and its branches at Birmingham, Jacksonville, Nashville, and New Orleans will be open for such business as may be legally transacted,. Lee’s Birthday has also been proclaimed a legal holiday in the States of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, but the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and its Balti more and Charlotte Branches will be open for business as usual.
