DETAILS
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is seeking
nominations f o r eleven appointments to i t s Consumer Advisory Council to
replace members whose terms expir e on December 31, 1985.
Nominations should be submitted in w r itin g to Delores S. Smith,
A s s i s t a n t D i r e c t o r , Division of Consumer and Community A f f a i r s , Board of
Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Washington, D.C., 20051.
Nominations should be received no l a t e r than August 9, 1985.
The Council advises the Board in the f i e l d of consumer fin a n c i a l
p r o te c tio n laws and o th e r consumer-related m a tte r s. I t meets several times
per year in sessio n s open to the pu b lic .

The Federal Reserve Board today announced t h a t i t i s seeking nominations
of q u a l i f i e d in d i v i d u a l s f o r eleven appointments to i t s Consumer Advisory Council,
t o rep lace members whose terms expire on December 31, 1985.
The Consumer Advisory Council was e s t a b l i s h e d by Congress in 1976, at
t h e suggestion of t h e Board, t o advise t h e Board on t h e e x e r c i s e of i t s d u tie s
under th e Consumer C red it P ro t e c t i o n Act and on o th er consumer-related m atters.
The Council meets t h r e e times a y e a r .
Nominations should include th e name, ad d re ss, and telephone number of
t h e nominee.

In a d d i t i o n , information about p a s t and prese nt p o s i t i o n s held, spe cial

knowledge, i n t e r e s t s or experience r e l a t e d t o consumer c r e d i t or o th er consumer
f i n a n c i a l s e r v i c e s should be included.

the Congress in 1976 to advise the Federal Reserve Board on the e x e r c ise of
i t s d u t i e s under the Consumer C red it P ro te c tio n Act and on o th e r consumerrelated matters.

in terms of a f f i l i a t i o n and geographic and minority r e p r e s e n t a t i o n .
