Dallas, Texas, October 18, 1944

To the Member Banks of the
Eleventh Federal Reserve District:
In 1941, Congress passed a law providing that thereafter Thanks­
giving would be observed on the fourth Thursday of November. The
fourth Thursday this year will be November 23.
Since the Governor of the State of Texas has proclaimed Thurs­
day, November 30, as Thanksgiving Day, this bank and its branches
will observe both days as legal holidays.
