To All Banking Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District:

The Secretary of the Treasury has issued the following general license
(Code o f Federal Regulations, Title 31, Money and Finance, Treasury Chap­
ter 1, Monetary Offices, Part 138):
GENERAL LICENSE NO. 8 UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 8389 of
April 10, 1940, as amended, and Regulations issued pursuant thereto, relat­
ing to transactions in foreign exchange, etc.*
“ A general license is hereby granted authorizing banking institu­
tions within the United States to make all payments, transfers and
withdrawals from accounts in the name o f any of the following:
Javasche Bank, Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij, Nederlandsch
Indische Handelsbank and Nederlandsch-Indische Escompto Maatschappij. Banking institutions within the United States making such
payments, transfers or withdrawals shall file promptly with the appro­
priate Federal Reserve bank weekly reports showing the details of the
transactions during such period.
