OF DALLAS

Dallas, Texas, August 22, 1944

To the Member Bank Addressed:
We are advised by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System that all Federal Reserve banks and branches will be closed on Mon­
day, September 4, Labor Day, except the following:
Atlanta
Birmingham
Jacksonville
Nashville
New Orleans
We are also advised that Saturday, September 9, Admission Day, is a
legal holiday in the State of California and that the Federal Reserve Bank
of San Francisco and its Los Angeles Branch will be closed.
In observance of Defenders’ Day in Maryland, the Baltimore Branch
of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will be closed on Tuesday, Sep­
tember 1 2 , except for fiscal agency operations.
This information is transmitted to you for your guidance in connection
with transit operations and transfers of funds.
