F ederal reserve bank DALLAS, TEX A S of Dallas 75222 Circular No. 73-70 March 29, 1973 To the Bank Addressed: The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is in the process of modifying the check processing procedures currently being utilized in our Checks Department and Regional Check Processing Center. These modifications involve the utilization of third generation IBM System 370 computers, IBM lUl9 Reader Sorters, and advanced check process ing programing recently developed within the Federal Reserve System. In order to satisfy our complete testing requirements, it will be necessary to utilize representative MICR encoder documents typical of the check processing function within the Eleventh Federal Reserve District. It is therefore requested, that your bank supply the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas with a sample of approximately 100 of your bank's checks. These checks will be utilized strictly as test documents and will remain within the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Your cooperation in this matter will be appreciated.
