SUBJECT
Extension of the comment period for proposal regarding automated
clearinghouse float recovery
DETAILS
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve has extended the
comment period from Novmeber 21 to December 22, 1986, on a proposal to recover
the costs of automated clearinghouse (ACH) float.
The proposal outlines a method of recovering the costs of float
generated by ACH transactions. Because of interest in this proposal by the
banking community, the comment period was extended. The Dallas Fed encourages
Eleventh District institutions to comment on the issue. In addition, this
Bank would appreciate a copy of any comments your institution forwards to the
Board. Copies should be sent to the attention of Mr. Richard D. Ingram,
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Station K, Dallas, Texas 75222.
