Establishment of a Regional Check Processing Center
(RCPC) in the El Paso territory

SUMMARY:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is pleased to
announce that on August 1, 1984, a Regional Check
Processing Center ikCPC) will be established for the
entire area served by the El Paso Branch of the Dallas
Fed. This center, one of many operated by the Federal
Reserve System, is designed to substantially improve
check processing services offered by the Bank to
financial institutions.
The
RCPC
will
enable
financial
institutions
to
receive
improved
availability of funds in addition
to
overnight
delivery of reserve account statements and ACH data
generated by the El Paso Branch.
Checks drawn on
institutions with routing symbols 1122, 3122, 1123,
3123, 1103, and 3163 will be collected through the £1
Paso RCPC.

For
institutions
depositing unsorted items, the
deposit deadline will be 12:01 a.m. for same-day
credit.
For
those depositing fine sorted cash
letters, the deposit deadline will be 2:30 a.m. for
same-day credit. A premium unsorted deposit deadline
of 12:30 a.m. also is being made available.
Shipments destined for delivery to the El Paso RCPC
may be delivered to the Dallas Office by 8:30 p.m.
Monday through Thursday and by 7:00 p.m. Saturday for
transshipment to El Paso at no additional charge to
the depositing institution. El Paso RCPC items should
be packaged separately and clearly labeled "El Paso
RCPC." The items should
be
delivered
to
the
Consolidated
Shipment area of the Outgoing Mail

reflect a 2-Digit Class No. of 40.
Consolidated
shipments will be offered from the Houston and San
Antonio
Branches for
one-day
El
Paso
RCPC
availability.
The
details of this consolidated
service will
be announced
to
direct sending
institutions soon.
The present special service option allowing items
bearing routing number 1163 (Midland and Odessa areas)
to be included in country, group sort, fine sort and
offsite deposits at the Dallas office
will
be
eliminated.
All such items will be collected through
the El Paso RCPC.
