In an e f f o r t toward im provem en t o f this s e rv ic e , the Federal R e serv e Bank o f D allas is now offe r in g a coupon c o lle c tio n se r v ic e which fe a tu r e s improved fle x ib ility and availability. E f f e c t iv e August 1, 1982, we will giv e cred it for coupons in coupon cash l e t t e r s in acc o rd a n c e with the a tta c h e d new cred it availab ility schedule. The new schedule o f fe r s cred it on the m aturity date for future due ite m s. This represen ts a one-day im provem en t in availab ility for city ite m s and a tw o-d ay im provem en t in availab ility for country ite m s. C redit is given five banking days a fte r r e c e ip t for due and past due country ite m s, which is a three-d ay im provem ent in availab ility. There has been no change in the th ree-day cred it availability for due and past due c ity ite m s. Due to the im provem en ts in cred it availability, charges will be made to the paying a g en t's or correspondent's a c cou n t on our books on the m aturity d ate for future due c o lle c tio n le t t e r s . P resorting coupons according to c ity and country paying a g e n ts will no longer be required. A m ixed coupon cash l e t t e r containing all o f th e se ite m s may be dep osited using country availability sch edules. Mixed cash l e t t e r s which contain a m ajority o f c ity ite m s will be e v a lu a te d to provide the b e st availab ility and country ite m s will be r e je c te d to the sender. Som e in stitu tion s may wish to continue presorting ite m s in order to r e c e iv e o ptim al cred it availab ility.
