R E SE R V E B A N K OF DALLAS September 21, 1931 ELECTION OF DIRECTORS To the Member Bank Addressed: Beginning November 2, 1931, an election will be held under the provisions of Section 4 of the Federal Reserve Act, to choose successors to the following directors of this bank, whose terms expire December 31, 1931: Class A Director— W. H. Patrick, President, First National Bank, Clarendon, Texas. Class B Director—A. S. Cleveland, W. D. Cleveland and Sons, Houston, Texas. The Class A director was elected by banks in Group 3, and the Class B director by Group 1 banks. Consequently, their successors will be chosen, respectively, by these groups. The banks in Group 2 do not elect a director this year. Group 1 consists of banks having a capital and surplus in excess of $399,000. Group 3 consists of banks having a capital and surplus less than $100,000. Lists of banks composing Groups 1 and 3 are given on the following pages. Each bank in Group 3 is permitted to nominate a candidate for Class A director and each bank in Group 1, a candidate for Class B director. 9 The nomination must be made by resolution of the Board of Directors and certified to me and received in my office on or before October 26, 1931. A form for this purpose is enclosed. On October 30 a list of the candidates (indicating by whom nominated) and a preferential ballot will be mailed to each bank in the two groups mentioned. The ballot must be cast within fifteen days after receipt. The polls will open on November 2, and close at 3:00 p. m., November 16, 1931. At that time the ballot box will be opened in the Board Room of this bank, the votes counted, and result of the election announced. Any of the candidates are invited to be present or represented on that occasion. In order to be counted the ballot must be executed by the officer of the bank author ized to cast the vote. On the following pages are given the names and titles of the offi cers, who, according to our records, have been heretofore designated for this purpose. It is quite important that each bank make a designation and certify the appointment to me before the polls close on November 16, 1931. Another form for this purpose is enclosed to those banks which have not made a designation. While the banks in Group 2 will not vote in this election, this circular is sent to them without the nomination form for their information.
