F e d e r a l R e s e r v e Ba n k OF DALLAS Dallas, Texas, September 15, 1958 To A il Banks in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District: We regret to inform you that Earl B. Austin, Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, died suddenly of a heart attack in El Paso, Texas, on the morning of September 14. Mr. Austin, who would have been eligible for retirement under the Federal Reserve Retirement System on November 1, joined the Bank on December 10, 1917. He served continuously as an officer of the Bank from 1924 until the time of his death. For the past several years, in addition to his operating duties, Mr. Austin supervised the Bank’s construction program. Mr. Austin's death will be deeply felt not only by his family but also by his many friends in banking throughout the Southwest. Yours very truly, WATROUS H.
