F ederal reserve Bank O F DALLAS Dallas, Texas, September 11, 1961 To All Banks in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District: Hurricane weather conditions in the Gulf Coastal areas have disrupted banking operations in our Houston and San Antonio branch territories and, based on current reports, this situation may continue for several days. As a result, there will be some delays in the presentment and payment of cash and noncash items cleared through the two branches, as well as delays in the return of unpaid items and the sending of wire advices of nonpayment of items. Because weather conditions limited available personnel, immediate and deferred cash items received by the Houston Branch today were not processed. Therefore, banks will not receive a cash letter from the Houston Branch dated September 11. The San Antonio Branch operated normally and, in the absence of adverse weather conditions, will continue to do so. Yours very truly. Watrous H. Irons President This publication was digitized and made available by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas' Historical Library (FedHistory@dal.frb.org)
