AGENT O F THE UNITED STATES Dallas, Texas, June 14, 1961 DAILY F O R W A R D IN G O F DEPOSITS O F FEDERAL TAXES T O THE FEDERAL RESERVE B A N K To Depositaries for Federal Taxes: It has been noted that some depositaries are not forwarding Federal Tax depositary receipts and remittances to the Federal Reserve Bank on a current basis. This requirement is set forth in Section 6(D) of Treasury Department Circular No. 848, which states: “Depositaries shall forward daily to the Federal Reserve Bank of their district the depositary receipts inscribed by and received from employers, together with payment in funds immediately available at the Federal Reserve Bank point or with advice that funds have been credited in the Treasury Tax and Loan Account of the depositary, cov ering the aggregate amoimt of all Federal Tax deposits received during that day.” E^ch depositary is requested to adhere to this regulation so that the depos itary receipts may be validated and forwarded to the respective employers without delay.
