TEXAS of Dallas 75222 Circular No. 80-165 August 28, 1980 CROSS-ZONE PRESENTMENT OF CASH LETTERS TO ALL BANKS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE ELEVENTH FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT: The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System has authorized Federal Reserve Banks to provide cross-zone presentment of cash letters to all payor financial institutions effective immediately. This revised policy allows Reserve Banks to arrange transportation (at the expense of the payor financial institution or its agent) for cross-zone presentment, provided delivery can be accomplished on the same banking day that the items would have been presented within the territory of the local Reserve office. Return item deadlines and cash le tter charges will be calculated from the time of presentment of these items to the financial institution's agent. Reserve Bank personnel are available to provide assistance with either arranging or negotiating the necessary courier arrangements on behalf of the payor institutions.
