FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF DALLAS
FISCAL. A G E N T O F TH E U N ITED ST A T E S

Dallas, Texas, May 31,1944

To Qualified Issuing Agents of
W ar Savings Bonds, Series E :

During the Fifth War Loan Drive, a large number of magazine pub
lishers will feature on the covers of their magazines a picture of a $100 War
Savings Bond, Series E, without the impression of an issue date or dating
stamp and bearing the following inscription:
“ Mr. and Mrs. America
Everywhere
U. S. A .”

The Treasury Department has informed us that the appearance of the
inscription “ Mr. and Mrs.” is for promotional purposes only and should
not be construed as indicating a change in registration requirements. The
inscription of bonds in the form “ Mr. and Mrs.” is not authorized and
should not be used.

Yours very truly,
R. R. GILBERT
President
