CLOSING OF THE CASH SUBSCRIPTION BOOKS FOR THE
3*4 PERCENT TREASURY BONDS OF 1978-83

To All Banking Institutions, and Others Concerned,
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve D istrict:

There is quoted below a press statement issued today by the Treasury
Department:
“ Secretary of the Treasury Humphrey announced today that the
cash subscription books for the current offering of 3% percent
Treasury Bonds o f 1978-83 will be closed at the close o f business
today.
“ Cash subscriptions placed in the mail before 12 o’clock midnight
tonight, April 14, will be considered as having been entered before
the close o f the subscription books.
“ Announcement o f the amount of subscriptions and the bases of
allotment will probably be made on Friday, April 17.
“ As previously announced, the subscription books for exchange
of Series F and G Savings Bonds for the new 3 % marketable bond
will remain open until May 1.”
CASH SUBSCRIPTIONS for the 31,4 percent Treasury Bonds o f 197883 addressed to this bank or appropriate branch and placed in the mail
before midnight, April 14, will be considered as timely subscriptions.
EXCHANGE SUBSCRIPTIONS addressed to this bank or appropriate
branch and placed in the mail before midnight, April 30, will be considered
as timely subscriptions.
