Eleventh Federal Reserve District
SUBJECT
Changes in Automated Clearinghouse Fees
DETAILS

Two changes in Automated Clearinghouse fees will go into effect
April 1, 1991, and one additional change will begin on July 1, 1991. You were
first notified in Circular 90-86 dated November 30, 1990, that these changes
would take place. They are as follows:
•

Effective April 1, 1991, a surcharge of four cents per
item will be added to the fee for originated and
received automated return items.

•

Effective April 1, 1991, the price for interdistrict
ACH transactions will be reduced from 1.6 cents per
item to 1.5 cents per item.

•

Effective July 1, 1991, an ACH participation fee of
$10 per month will be charged local depository
institutions for each routing transit number main
tained in the Reserve Bank’s Central Information
File which shows ACH activity. Those routing tran
sit numbers with zero activity for the month will
not be charged.

You may wish to make note of these changes in the 1991 Fee Schedule
recently sent to you, as they are not listed in that publication.
