Circular No. 7^-122
May 10, 197^

To All Banking Institutions and Others Concerned
in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District:
Enclosed is a revision of appendices B and C of this B a n k ’s
Bulletin I k which results from the recent issuance of regulations by the
Federal National Mortgage Association making their securities eligible
for deposit in book-entry form and for transfer over the Federal Reserve
wire network.
As you will recall, the Federal National Mortgage Association
was partitioned, effective September 1, 1968 , into two separate and
distinct corporations, i.e., the Federal National Mortgage Association
and the Government National Mortgage Association.
The obligations of
the Federal National Mortgage Association, including certain mortgage
backed bonds guaranteed by the Government National Mortgage Association,
are eligible for the book-entry program and the wire transfer procedure.
However, participation certificates of the Government Mortgage Liquid
ation Trust, the Federal Assets Liquidation Trust and the Federal Assets
Financing Trust, since they are direct obligations of the Government
National Mortgage Association, are not eligible for the book-entry
program and the wire transfer procedure.
Additional copies of this revision are available upon request.

Yours very truly,
P. E. Coldwell
President
Enclosure
