To Banks Qualified for the Payment of
United States Savings Bonds:
The Treasury Department has stated that banks qualified
for the payment of United States Savings Bonds should not
release any data to the press or others with reference to the
number or amount of bonds paid. Information of that charac­
ter is considered confidential and should be released only by the
Treasury Department or at its direction.
