F ederal Reserve Bank DALLAS, TEXAS Dallas of 75222 C i r c u l a r N o . 73-25*+ O c to b e r 2 , 1973 AMENDMENT TO REGULATION P MINIMUM SECURITY DEVICES AND PROCEDURES FOR FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS AND STATE MEMBER BANKS To All State Member Banks in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District: The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System announced October 1, 1973? revisions to Regulation P, "Minimum Security Devices and Procedures for Federal Reserve Banks and State Member Banks." The revisions are similar to regulatory changes proposed for comments in January. They become effective November 1, 1973? are largely technical in nature, and clarify minimum standards to be met by State member banks, with the aim of discouraging crimes against such institutions and assisting in apprehending perpetra tors of such crimes. Included are definitions of requirements for vaults as distinguished from safes, protection standards for cash dispensing machines and a clarification of the rules that safe deposit boxes be stored in an approved vault or safe.
