With the expanded use of the $2 b l by banks, business organizations, and the public, i i il t s estimated that a saving of approximately $27 million in the cost of printing Federal Reserve currency will result over the next five years, which i a significant saving to taxpayers. s Treasury Department officials forecast a wide circula tion of $2 notes, resulting in an eventual reduction in the need for $1 notes. Studies indicate that other nations utilizing the decimal system, such as Canada and Australia, have successfully utilized the $2 denomination. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
