FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF NEW YORK Circular No. 2049 April 22, 1940 Daylight Saving Time To all Banks and Trust Companies in the Second Federal Reserve District and Others Concerned: "Daylight saving time" will be effective in the cities of New York and Buffalo, New York, during the period from 2 a. m. on Sunday, April 28, 1940, to 2 a. m. on Sunday, September 29, 1940. During this period local time in the cities of New York and Buffalo, New York, will be one hour in advance of Eastern Standard time, and this bank will operate on such local time. GEORGE L.
