FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF N E W YORK r C ircu la r N o . 6 4 5 8 ~1 D e ce m b e r 26, 1969 J L Par Clearance of Checks Drawn on All Banks in Georgia, Effective January 1, 1970 To the Member Banlcs and Nonmember Clearing Banks o f the Second Federal Reserve D istrict; We have been informed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta that, effective January 1, 1970, checks drawn on all banks located in Georgia may be cleared through the Federal Reserve System. This change has been made possible by action of the 1969 Georgia State Legislature providing for par clearance. Until present check supplies are exhausted, checks will bear routing symbol 9064. Newly printed checks will bear routing symbol 612 (MICR encoded 0612) and items printed with either of these numbers may be commingled with other deferred-credit items in cash letters scheduled to arrive at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta on and after January 1, 1970.
