as Chairman o f the board o f directors o f the F ederal R eserve Bank o f New

Y o rk and F ederal R eserve A gent fo r the year 1956. M r. Crane, who is V ice President
o f the Standard Oil Com pany (N ew J e rse y ), New Y ork, was a Class B director o f the
Bank between 1949 and 1953. H e was first appointed a Class C director o f the Bank
in January 1953, and has served as Chairm an and F ederal R eserve A gent since then.

f o r the year 1956. D r. H ill has been a Class C director o f the Bank since January
1955, and has served as D eputy Chairman since that time. H e is V ice P resident o f

The B oa rd o f G overnors has also reappointed F r a n z S c h n e i d e r as a Class C
director o f the F ederal R eserve Bank o f New Y ork fo r the three-year term begin­
ning January 1, 1956. M r. Schneider has been a Class C director o f the Bank since
June 1953. H e is Consultant to the Newmont M ining C orporation, New Y ork, N. Y .
The b oard o f directors o f the F ederal R eserve Bank o f N ew Y ork has appointed
J o h n W . R e m i n g t o n and L e l a n d B. B r y a n as directors o f its B uffalo Branch, each
fo r the three-year term beginning January 1, 1956.
M r. Rem ington is P resident o f the L incoln R ochester T rust Com pany, Rochester,
New Y ork. H e succeeds, on the Branch board, B ernard E. Finucane, President o f the
S ecurity T rust Com pany o f Rochester, R ochester, New Y ork.
Mr. B ryan is P resident o f the F irst N ational Bank and T rust C om pany o f
Corning, Corning, New Y ork. H e succeeds, on the B ranch board, E dw ard P .
Vreeland, President o f the Salamanca T rust Company, Salamanca, N ew Y ork.
