Scanlon, Ch. J. (Charles Joseph), 1915-1990

Charles J. Scanlon was the fifth president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, serving from January 4, 1962, to April 15, 1970. During Scanlon's presidency, computers were first used in 1961 at the Chicago Fed to process checks for collection. In 1964, the Chicago Fed also commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the Federal Reserve System. (Source: Federal Reserve History)
