Bernanke, Ben
Ben Bernanke originally took office as chairman of the Board of Governors in February 2006 and his term ended in January 2014. Before his appointment as chairman, Bernanke has served the Federal Reserve System in several roles. He was a member of the Board of Governors from 2002 to 2005; a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Philadelphia from 1987 to 1989, Boston from 1989 to 1990, and New York from 1990 to 1991 and from 1994 to 1996; and a member of the Academic Advisory Panel at the New York Fed from 1990 to 2002. Bernanke was also chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers, from June 2005 to January 2006. (Source: Federal Reserve History)
