Officer Candidate School.

TO

Commanding General, Fourth Corps Area, Atlanta, Georgia.

:

1. Reference War Department letter dated April 26, 1941,
(AG 352) subject; "Officer Candidate School", it is recommended that
paragraph 10 of the above cited letter be amended to permit enlisted
men with proper qualifications and previous training or professional
experience to apply for the school in any arm or service for which
they are beet qualified, rather than limiting their applications to
the arm or service in which they are serving at the data of applicationĀ«
2. Several individuals at this Infantry Replacement, Training
Center posess professional quailfications which could be better
utilized in other anas or services as commissioned officers than
would be the case should they be authorized to attend the Infantry
Candidate School.
3. Specifically, it is recommended that enlisted men be
permitted to apply either for the school of the branch of current
enlistment or induction or any other school for which he might be
found to possess the necessary qualifications.
