THE WHITE H O U S E
W A S HIN G TON

March 10, 1947

Dear D r. N ourse;
I appreciated your letter of the seventh very
much and I am certainly glad that the Council
is watching the trend of developments since
the submission of the Economic Report.
I hope you also noticed that the Congress
shirked its duty in the report which they w ere
supposed to make on the economic situation.
They made a most innocuous statement, if
you w ill rem em ber.
I hope you keep your finger on the situation
and keep me fully informed on the program .

Honorable Edwin G. Nourse
Chairman
Council of Economic A d visers
Washington 25, D.C.
