The Honorable,
Robert L. Owen,
Washington, D.C.
My dear Senator,
Find enclosed, the article read to you by me over the telephone,
it is very interesting and I thought it relative to the Global Alphabet
by you. Mrs. Holt seems very interested in the progress of the Alphabet
and is desirous of making a radio comment for you in its interest. I
mailed the extra " ’Memo’ On Phonetic Global Alphabet** you gave me on
ny last visit to you to Mrs. Holt —
this ’Memo* was historically dated
" April 13, 1943 —
Thomas Jefferson’s Birthday." Mrs. Holt has
a quarter page ’comment* in the book review of last Sunday’s New York Times
on a new book, by Roi Ottley, "New World A Coming" — Houghton, Mifflin.
I trust that you and Mrs. Owen and the family continue in good
health

With affectionate regards to vou and vours.
