Dear Sir:At a largely attended meeting of the Chamber of Commerce of Pittsburgh, held April 9, 1914, the following resolutions, presented by the Chamber's Committee on Finance and Banking, were unanimously adopted: WHEREAS, In the establishment of the Regional Bank Districts provided for under the new currency law, Western Pennsylvania is included in the Cleveland Regional Bank District, and WHEREAS, it has come to the knowledge of the Chamber of Commerce of Pittsburgh that the banking inetitutions,comprising Groups /To. 7 and 8 of the Pennsylvania Bankers' Association representing the banking interests of Western Pennsylvania, intend to make application to the Reserve Bank Organization Committee to so modify the plan as to permit of the banking institutions of Western Pennsylvania being included in the District, the Regional Bank of which is located at Philadelphia, and WHEREAS, such application is made for the reason that the natural trend of the business of the banking institutions ofWestern Pennsylvania is away from the City of Cleveland and towards Philadelphia and the Edxt, and WHEREAS, such re-arrangement would be of great advantage and benefit to the banking and voluminous business interests of Western Pennsylvania, be it therefore RESOLVED, That the Chamber of Commerce of Pittsburgh strongly endorses the proposed application and respectfully urges upon the Reserve Bank Organization Committee that it make the necessary modifications of the plan so as to include Western Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia Regional Bank District. http://fraser.stlouisfed.org Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Yours very truly, --V.ED3M_ • U.
