S t a t e m e n t of R. A. Young, Governor of the F e d e r a l Reserve Board.
Governor H a r d i n g was h e a d of the F e d e r a l R e s e r v e System
d u r i n g the d i f f i c u l t f o r m a t i v e and war p e r i o d s , and h i s h a r d
work, constructive thought and perseverance contributed g r e a t l y
to i t s p r e s e n t s u c c e s s f u l operation.
S i n c e I h a v e b e e n a member of the F e d e r a l R e s e r v e B o a r d I
h a v e f r e q u e n t l y s o u g h t the b e n e f i t of h i s e x p e r i e n c e a n d c o u n s e l ,
m u c h t o my a d v a n t a g e a n d p r b f i t .
Governor Harding was a conscientious p u b l i c servant in every
way a n d t h o s e of u s t h a t were c l o s e l y a s s o c i a t e d w i t h him h a d the
greatest respect for h i s a b i l i t y and courage.
