STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS

For immediate release.

September 2, 1937.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System today
apprpved the action of the directors of the Federal Reserve Bank
of Kansas City in reducing the discount rate from 2% to lg#, effective September 5, 1937.
