Dear S i r : From time t o time i t has appeared t h a t t h e Board of Governors h a s n o t been promptly a d v i s e d of amendments t o t h e b y - l a w s of t h e Federal Reserve banks and t h e i r branches. In order t h a t t h e Board may r e c e i v e a d v i c e promptl y i n a l l such c a s e s , i t w i l l be a p p r e c i a t e d i f y o u w i l l arrange t o have t h e Board n o t i f i e d a s soon a s p o s s i b l e , through a s e p a r a t e communication on t h e s u b j e c t , whenever t h e b y - l a w s have been amended. I t i s r e q u e s t e d t h a t t h i s be done whether t h e change i s i n t h e by-laws o f t h e F e d e r a l Reserve bank or i n t h e by-laws of a branch. When an amendment i s made t o the b y - l a w s o f your bank, one copy of the complete b y - l a w s a s amended should be promptly forwarded t o t h e Board f o r i t s f i l e s , accompanied by a l e t t e r e x p l a i n i n g t h e changes. In t h e c a s e of amendments t o the b y - l a w s of a branch, t h e forwarding o f a copy of the complete b y - l a w s may, i f d e s i r e d , be d e f e r r e d u n t i l a f t e r t h e Board h a s approved the amendments.
