Dear Sir: In view of e x i s t i n g conditions, the Federal Reserve Board, in accordance with a suggestion received from one of the Federal reserve fcfjiks, has amended paragraph 5 of the instructions governing the operation of the personnel c l a s s i f i c a t i o n plans of the Federal reserve banks so as to increase from three to s i x months the period for which, without the approve! of the Board, an employee may "bo temporarily assigned without a reduction in salary to a p o s i t i o n calling: for a lower maximum salary then he i s r e c e i v i n g .
