FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD WASHINGTON ADDRESS OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE TO T H E FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD March 6, 1924. x-3987 Subject; Notarial Fees Dear Sir: The Board is making an investigation of the problem of notary fees paid by Federal reserve banks for notarial work done in connection with their banking operations in the hope of reaching a satisfactory solution of this problem. To assist it in this investigation, the Board desires you to furnish detailed information along the following 1ines: 1. The amount of notary fees paid during each of the past three fiscal years. 2. The amount of fee paid per item and the controlling statutory rates at the present time. 3« The manner of designating notaries at the present time. 4. The names of the notaries employed during the past three years and the amount of fees received annually by each during such period. 5* A statement of any other services performed, and compensation received, by such notaries. 6. The present method of payment of fees to such notaries and the disposition of fees received by them. 7« All other information pertinent to the performance of notarial services and the compensation paid therefor.
