The individual members of the Federal Reserve
Board are receiving the, customary requests from newspapers and other publications f o r a r t i c l e s to be included
i n the end of the year e d i t i o n s . The members are r e f r a i n ing from f u r n i s h i n g such a r t i c l e s , because of e x i s t i n g
conditions and the p o s s i b i l i t y that unfavorable i n t e r p r e t a tions w i l l be put upon the statements regardless of how
c a r e f u l l y they may be prepared.
Advice of the p o s i t i o n being taken here i s sent
you f o r the information of your d i r e c t o r s and for such
consideration as they may care to give i t in connection
with similar requests which may be received at your bank.
