Dear S i r : - In connection with your campaign for State Bank memberships, i t may be of interest to you to know that the Federal Reserve Board, in considering applications from State Banks for membership in the Federal Reserve System pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 the Federal Reserve Act, has decided to accept estimates of the population of the towns or cities in which the applying banks are located as shown by the last official ceneus, whether national, State, county or municipal, unless there is good reason to believe that the figures are incorrect, in which event an estimate of the population will be made through means of local data supported by affidavits, as heretofore.
