Mr* Vest has just called me to say that the amendment of that one line would, in his opinion, be sufficient• He suggests, however, that instead of having the amended line 20 read "loans or grants for housing", it read "housing, including loans or grants therefor". Tnis would remove any question as to whether the wora f!grants" would include direct housing operations by the Government.
