I think you will be interested in the attached
letter to the New York Times concerning the German reparation program which was written by Julius Edelstein, a State
Department official. The purpose of the letter is to defend
the continuation of the present policy of removing from
Western Germany capital equipment surplus to the peacetime
requirements of that area.
