Mr. Draper

As I have just told Elliott Thurston over the
telephone, I think your latest address before the Eco
nomic Club of New York is the most convincing and effec
tive statement of your views which I have read since
becoming a member of the Board. It seems to me that this
address should have wider circulation than is possible
by just sending it to the banks. Have you considered
its acceptance by some magazine or newspaper of wide and
general circulation?
The fact that this is an election year does not,
in my opinion, have a bearing upon the subject matter of
this address because the subject matter is of general in
terest, regardless of political ties. I sincerely hope
that you will exert every effort to see that the address
secures a larger audience because the country needs this
type of economic education.
