My deer Mr, Secretary; X appreciate very much the invitation to meet with you and members of your immediate staff at five o*clock this afternoon. I regret to find that I have a ^tery important engagement at my office in the department of State as soon as I can get there following the joint meeting this afternoon at three o'clock. After that, I am to be host at a reception beginning at five thirty to an important Cuban delegation which is stopping off a few days in Washington on their way to our Trade Conference in London. I will do my best to drop in at your suite here at the Wart*man Park at sometime between five and seven, but if I am unable to make it X want to take this occasion to extend to you and your staff my very sincere congratulations on the revy efficient manner in which preparation was made for the Fund and Bank meetings drawing to a close today, and the veTpy gracious and able way in which you have presided at the various meetings of which you were Chairman* X do not know of any international conference which has been as successfully conducted as this.
