There are some invidious people who think it incongruous
for me to want a clock* It might be flattering if they
stopped with the observation that I am not a clock watcher
by nature, but they cast doubts even on my ability to tell
time* Even if they were right and in the years to come I
look at the dock not as a timepiece but as a symbol,
the Board's generosity will, I hope, be justified*
