F e d e ra l R e s e rv e OF RAY M-GIDNEY, B a js h b : C IDEATE I^AJSTD P r e s id e n t April 10, 1951 Dear Marriner: When I was in Pittsburgh last week, Arthur Atwood of The Colonial Trust Company, showed me a letter he had written you inviting you to attend the meeting of Group Eight, Pennsylvania Bankers Association, which will be held at the William Penn Hotel, Saturday evening, April 21. I had told the Pittsburgh men that you would be in Cleveland for The City Club meeting and that you might like to drop off in Pittsburgh for their Group meeting. If you think you would like to do so, you could go over in the afternoon by train or plane in ample time for the dinner proceedings. We are looking forward to having you with us in Cleveland on the 20th and 21st. Sid Congdon tells me that you have accepted his invitation to The National ity Bank's luncheon and to the baseball game. I have poken to the~PresIdent of The 50 Club about having you s our guest in the evening for cocktails at 5*30 and inner at 6:30 at the Union Club. He is pleased that ou can be vith us. If it is agreeable to you, I shall nork with Secretary Lafferty of The Gity Glub to arrange to have representatives of the press see you at the Statler at whatever time Saturday morning will best suit you. I should think that 9:30 might be a convenient hour. As soon as you know the time of your arrival in Cleveland, I shall be glad if you will let me know so that we can arrange to meet you at the airport or rail road station as the case may be. With cordial greetings, I am, Hon. M. S. Eccles Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Washington 2 5, D. C. Sincere!”’ Tr^ii^a
