THE ARM Y INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE
WASHINGTON, D. C.

25 January 1946

Dear Mr. Eccless
There is one sentence in your welcome letter of January
22nd which strikes a most responsive note. Since taking over
the Army Industrial College a year and a half ago, I have
devoted all my efforts to building up cooperation between
the Armed Foroes and the leaders on the economic front. You
can understand, therefore, my delight in finding your interest
in the same essential subject. We are dedicated to the
perpetuation of the Industry-Armed Forces teamwork built up
by so much hard work in the late war. I should like the
opportunity to discuss the ways and means we have adopted to
attain this goal. If you would speak on that subject there
is no other that I feel would be more important to the work
of the students in the present class. Can we, therefore,
count on you to make this contribution to our work?
In the meantime, I should be delighted to have you as my
guest for luncheon in the Generals' Dining Room in The Pentagon
some day soon at your convenience*
With many thanks for your views and for your letter,
I am
Sincerely yours,

Mr. M. S. Eccles, Chairman
Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System,
Washington, D. C.
